2. Hotel Manoir D’Auteuil – 1835

In 1835 Sheriff William Smith Sewell authorized designer Frederick Hacker to design a four-story stone house for his family in London fashion. And Hotel Manoir D’Auteuil was built in 1835 as a house. At that time, the house cost 565 English pounds to build. 

Geoge-Élie Amyot purchased the home in 1912. In 1913 he gave the house to his daughter Alice and her husband. Alice’s husband extensively renovated the house in 1933. The house was converted into a hotel in 1953. It is a 3-star hotel with 33 unique rooms.

3. Hotel Manoir sur le Cap – 1837

Hotel Manoir Sur le Cap is located near the Notre-Dame Basilica in Old Quebec in the heart of North America’s most historic district. A wooden house was built here in the late eighteenth century. William L. Felton bought it in 1837 and built a stone house.

The property was later bought by Georges Melis Douglas, who was a doctor by profession. In 1857, the house belonged to the painter Theophile Hamel, who settled there after his marriage. Later this former manor was converted into a 3-star hotel with 14 rooms.
